Product Service Center FAQs

If you are seeing an event code on your PE® unit, please refer to our Troubleshooting Guide for steps you should try first. You can also contact our Technical Assistance Team for troubleshooting help. After you have completed the recommended troubleshooting steps (and if the product is still not operating correctly), you should then check the age of the unit using the “Age Calculator” tool provided on this page. If appropriate for the age of the unit, you should then proceed with a Product Service Request.

PE® does not sell internal circuit boards or any other internal components for our products. For safety purposes, and to maintain the integrity of our products, the only factory-authorized repair procedure requires returning all PE® products to our factory for a full evaluation and analysis. After you submit the request for product service found on this page, the PE® Product Service Center will provide you with a Customer Care Number, and further instructions throughout the process.

Before sending any items to Power Electronics, a Customer Care number must first be obtained from PE®. To request a Customer Care number (CC#), you must fill out and submit the form on this page. Any items that are shipped to Power Electronics® without a CC# may be subject to delays and/or additional fees.

It may take up to 1-2 weeks to receive your unit back, depending on the speed of shipping, authorizations, and availability of replacement components. Rush repair may be available upon request, but may involve an additional fee – contact the Product Service Center for details regarding your specific Customer Care number. Please also keep in mind that if you or your customer are down and need a replacement unit immediately, you can contact our Sales Department for options regarding replacement or loaner units.

Depending on the age and the warranty status of your Power Electronics® product, you may be required to pay a diagnostic charge when you send your items to Power Electronics. This fee covers the labor for evaluating the unit. The amount of the diagnostic fee varies depending on the size and model of the PE® product, and the exact amount will be quoted to you when you submit your initial Product Service Request. Once our expert repair team has analyzed the unit, we will then send you a Service Quote with the charges for the repairs, which will be in addition to the diagnostic charges. The diagnostic fee will be due regardless of whether or not you decide to proceed with the repairs.

The warranty period (available on some items) varies depending on the type of item you may have, and is calculated based on the original shipping date from Power Electronics®. When you submit your Product Service Request form, you will be informed if your product is within this period. Keep in mind, however, that even though a product may be within the warranty period, damage caused by external problems may not be covered. Final warranty determination will be made only after the unit has been analyzed by the PE® Product Service Center.

Product returns may only be performed by the company who originally purchased the item, and must be requested within 30 days of the original purchase. Retesting and Restocking fees will apply.*
